Daily Matchups for 7/6/2016

Pitcher

STUDS

Johnny Cueto- Averaging 7 innings a start and 7.8 k per 9, and the Rockies fan at a 25% clip vs. right handlers on the road.

Sonny Gray-  With DeGrom facing a Marliins team that has hit him fairly well, Gray facing a weak hitting Twins lineup puts him into consideration as one of the top options today.

MID RANGE

Jeremy Hellickson – Facing a Braves team that’s a combined 16-71 off him.

Tanner Roark –  Brewers fan a ton, especially vs. RHP

VALUE

Shelby Miller – Almost anyone facing the Padres becomes an option. Arizona facing Rea gives him a shot at a win.

Michael Pineda – Been raking up the K’s after a slow start. Could make a case to flip flop Pineda and Hellickson, but Pineda was so bad early I’m considering him a value play. 6 innings with 10 K and a win could easily be reached in this one.

CATCHER

STUDS

Wilson Ramos – 6-16 with a bomb vs Garza. I like all Nats in this one today.

Victor Martinez- only 5-23 vs Tomlin but with three HR. Tigers make for a nice early stack.

MID RANGE

Brian McCann – Not hitting for much average but still has power. Gonzalez hasn’t given up a ton of home runs this year but he is still just a bad pitcher.  I like the Yankee lefties today.

Evan Gattis – 2-3 with a home run vs lefty LeBlanc. Good chance for a long ball in this matchup.

VALUE

Jarrod Saltalamacchia – career 4-7 with a HR vs Tomlinson. Could be a nice pivot off V-Mart at catcher for the Tigers.

Miguel Montero – 2-6 with a home run of Anthony DeSclafani. Could be a cheap source of power today in a Cubbies stack.

FIRSTBASE

STUDS

Miguel Cabrera – 8-22 with a home run off the crafty Tomlin.

Chris Davis – Could go 0-4 with 4 K’s, could hit 2 long home runs.  Always risk when you go with Davis, but a solid matchup vs. his former teammate, Bud Norris.

MID RANGE

Ryan Zimmerman – 6-16 vs. Matt Garza in what should be a high scoring game for the Nats.

Anthony Rizzo – Putting him as a mid range because of his 1-17 off Desclafani.  Rizzo too good to keep up that pace. ( Donalson was 1-21 vs. Young prior to his two home run night off him Tuesday night)

VALUE

Yonder Alonso – a solid 5-10 off Ervin Santana.  Santana hasn’t been very good this year. Nice tournament option if he starts.

Logan Morrison – Only 3-16 vs. Jeff Weaver, but Weaver isn’t the same pitcher he was When Morrison put those numbers up.  Rays stack is in play.

SECOND BASE

STUDS

Ian Kinsler – a solid 8-24 Vs. Tomlin with a HR.  Tigers could mash today.

Jose Altuve –  1-1 is small sample vs. LeBlanc, but I think Houston puts up some big runs in this one.

MID RANGE

Logan Forsythe – Another Ray I like vs. Weaver. 4-13 in his career vs. him.

Neil Walker – He’s hit lefties well thus far, and Nicolino isn’t a very good one.

VALUE

Jedd Gyrko – 3-8 in his career with a HR vs. Locke. If he starts he’s a viable tournament option.

Starlin Castro – only 1-3 vs Gonzalez, and the only Yankee righty I’d run out there in this one as he has began to heat up and is a .400 career hitter in US Cellular.

THIRD BASE

STUDS

Kris Bryant –  at this point who cares what his numbers are. Use him. But he is 4-12 vs. Desclafani. And has been really good vs. righties this year.

Josh Donaldson – On fire. Tourney. Cash. He’s in play.

MID RANGE

Evan Longoria – has handled  Weaver to the tune of 6-23 with a HR. And as I mentioned earlier, Weaver isn’t the same pitcher any more.

Anthony Rendon –  3-10 vs. Garza is a smaller sample size, but as I mentioned before, I like a lot of Nationals today.

VALUE

Chase Headley – Been really swinging well after a dreadful start.  His 0-8 vs. Gonzaleez doesn’t look good, but he could be a nice tournament play here with less then 1 % ownership.

Wilmer Flores – 2-3 vs Nicolino. Mets usually K more vs. lefties but Nicolino is a soft tossing type lefty who pitches to contact with a less then 5 per 9 K rate.

SHORTSTOP

STUDS

Carlos Correa – No numbers vs. LeBlanc, but he’s one of a few Astro righties I like in this one.

Mid Level

Addison Russell – Another Cub that is in play vs a mediocre righty. 3-8 career vs. DeSclafani.

MID RANGE

Danny Espinosa – Hitting for a lot of power this year and still often over looked in DFS play because of a low batting average.

DiDi Gregorius –  0-9 vs. Gonzalez isn’t very appealing but he’s having a solid year and could be a low owned cheap option that has a nice day in a game that could see the Yankees put up a lot of runs.

OUTFIELD

STUDS

A lot of stud options I like today. I’m just gonna list them here in pairs rather list a ton of numbers.

Carlos Beltran, Jacoby Ellsbury, Brett Gardner – A Yankee OF stack could pay off big. Beltran, 5-9 with a HR, Ellsbury, 7-23 and Gardner, 9-26 with a Homerun, all look good vs. Gonzalez.

Bryce Harper and Jayson Werth – Combined 11-28 with a HR off Garza.

Yoenis Cespedes –  1-3 with a bomb vs. Nicolino, and as I said before, I’m not impressed with Nicolino, and Cespedes has been heating up.

MID RANGE

Andrew McCutchen – Looks to be responding to the leadoff spot and 4-11 vs. Garcia. Could be the start of a hot streak.

Christian Yelich and Marcel ozuna – Not sure I’d stack them vs. DeGrom but they’ve both -19 off him.

VALUE

Travis Piscotty and Matt Holiday –  typically wouldn’t consider these guys value plays, but I’m grouping them here because they have the potential to really put up some big numbers and far exceed their price tonight. Piscoty 3-5 and Holliday 5-16 with a HR vs. the below average Locke.

STACKS OF THE DAY

like a lot of stacks today. Really some poor pitching to take advantage of today.

1. Boston – They take the top spot for me today facing Perez just as they are heating up. Betts, Bogearts, Pedroia, and Ramirez all obvious choices.

2. Houston- LeBlanc has had a great start to his season, but I don’t think it lasts into hid third start.  Altuve, Correa, Springer and Gattis all In play.

3. Washington – Harper, Werth, Ramos, Rendon, Zimmerman and Espinosa. Take your pick.

4. Mets– Nicolino should be some one the Mets destroy. Walker, Cespedes, Flores and even Granderson.

5. Yankees– Facing a below average pitcher, I love Yankee lefties vs, him. Beltran, Gardner, Ellsbury, and McCann and righty hitting Castro.

Weather Concerns:

NYY @ CWS- 65% rain

 MLB DFS LINEUP

OUR FINAL LINEUP UPDATE WILL HAVE **** BY IT TO LET YOU KNOW THAT THEY ARE THE OPTIMAL LINEUP FOR THAT NIGHT. The lineups can be found at dailyrotohelp.com

REMEMBER: These are lineups we use, but feel free to pick and choose plays and make your own lineups. Don’t ALWAYS follow these as they don’t hit 100% of the time. We do use these but sometimes late scratches happen and it’s too late to update the lineup. Good luck and bring home the bacon.
