11 Oct Fantasy Football Week 6 Waiver Wire
It’s Waiver Wire Wednesday! It’s that special time of the week that can make (or break) your seasons. Nothing is more satisfying than landing that up-and-comer, that injury replacement, or that breakout stud from the previous week. Conversely, nothing is more infuriating than the team immediately ahead of you on the waiver wire list snagging that player you had your eyes on. Here at DailyRotoHelp.com, we’ll give you the tools you need to own the waiver wire and your daily/season-long leagues.
Brian Hoyer – We identified Hoyer as someone you needed on both your daily and season long rosters and he rewarded us, handsomely. Hoyer, starting for an injured Jay Cutler, threw for his third consecutive 300 yard performance, airing it out for 397 yards and two touchdowns, his 5th and 6th in the last three games. He has yet to throw an interception and has a plus matchup at Soldier Field against the Jaguars. Either Alshon Jeffrey or Cameron Meredith will take a slight hit depending on which receiver Jalen Ramsey, the Jags stud rookie, shadows. Word out of Chicago is that Hoyer keeps the job even when Cutler returns from injury. He’s not only an excellent waiver wire addition, but an excellent cash and GPP option this weekend as well.
Kenneth Dixon – If Dixon, Jordan Howard or Bilal Powell is still available in your leagues, you’re doing it wrong. These guys need to be owned in all formats. Other than Howard, who’s still available in 15% of leagues, Dixon and Powell are readily available in nearly 50% of leagues. Kenneth Dixon’s stock dropped slightly as underwhelmed in his debut, only registering four snaps against the Redskins. However, he remains a player that could potentially win championships for teams late in the season.
James White – White was identified as a solid waiver option last week and he rewarded PPR owners with double-digit fantasy production. We’re pushing him again this week as Tom Brady is already in mid-season form and will look to get White heavily involved as the week’s progress. Dion Lewis is still a few weeks away, enjoy White while he lasts.
Jeremy Kerley – Over the last two weeks, Kerley has been playing like a WR1. He’s caught 14 passes for 190 yards and 2 touchdowns. The 49ers announced today that Colin Kaepernick will replace Blaine Gabbart as the starter, so proceed with caution. It’s entirely possible that Kap will simply run and launch bombs, potentially benefitting someone like Torrey Smith, as opposed to Kerley.
Cameron Meredith – We didn’t list Meredith on our waiver picks last week, but we certainly took advantage of him in our Optimal Lineups. He balled. And he will likely continue to ball as Kevin White is now on IR with a leg issue. He led the Bears in targets, catches and yards, generating a 9-130-1 line in a loss to the Colts. As long as he avoids Jalen Ramsey, who will likely shadow Alshon Jeffrey, Meredith should have a monster game against the Jags. Take advantage in both season-long and DFS
Chris Hogan – It’s no coincidence that Tom Brady returns from a four game suspension and Chris Hogan goes off for 114 yards. He barely cracked 120 yards through the first four games of the season, but turned 4 catches into a season-high performance. Hogan looked great and should be a vital part of a very potent Patriots offense moving forward.
Jesse James – James has now scored a touchdown in three of the first five games of the season and is approaching TE1 numbers. It’s clear that Big Ben is looking his way in the red zone, but Sunday’s game against the Jets appeared to show a much higher workload as James set season-high marks in catches and yards. Get him rostered.
Hunter Henry – Even with Gates back, Henry was still heavily involved. Matter of fact, Gates and Henry got in on the action as they both scored touchdowns. Gates, the future Hall of Famer, is obviously slowing down, but he’s only six touchdowns away from breaking the all-time tight end record and Rivers wants to get him to that mark. Regardless, Hunter looks very impressive and is a must-own in all formats.
